There’s one leadership skill we often forget:
Self-compassion!
We’re all great at showing compassion to others, but how often do we extend that same kindness to ourselves?
As leaders, we often hold ourselves to impossible standards. We push harder, expect perfection, and are quick to criticize every misstep.
I’m my own critic and almost never a gentle one!
But you can’t lead at your best when you're tearing yourself down.
Great leaders lead by example. If you're not showing yourself compassion, how can you expect your team to do the same?
Self-compassion is treating yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a friend.
Growth is messy.
Allow yourself grace when things don’t go perfectly.
So today, take a moment to treat yourself kindly. Reframe a mistake, pause for a breath, or remind yourself you’re doing your best.
You deserve it.
